We're John & Kristine.
Kristine started her adult life as an EMT and a wildland firefighter, eventually becoming an ER/trauma nurse. John served in the US Marine Corps before going to medical school and residency to become an emergency physician in the U.S. Air Force.
The idea for Aska Outdoors came because we realized that even as medical professionals, we often forgot to bring basic first aid supplies on family outings. Even when we did remember, the kits available were mediocre at best and occupied a large portion of the usable area in a bag.
Thus, the idea was born to design a backpack that we loved, that we could use every day, and that would incorporate a dedicated first aid compartment- ensuring that we always have a high quality kit with us when needed, but doesn’t hinder the everyday use of the backpack otherwise.
We’ve been working on this project for about two years now and are pretty happy with the result. We hope you are too.

What is Aska?
The Aska adventure area, in North Georgia, is where our love for the outdoors was born. It's an area where the Toccoa river provides rafting, kayaking, and fishing, while the mountains provide everything from hiking on the Appalachian trail to mountain biking.
