We're John & Kristine.

Kristine started her adult life as an EMT and a wildland firefighter, eventually becoming an ER/trauma nurse. John served in the U.S. Marine Corps before going to medical school and residency to become an emergency physician in the U.S. Air Force. 

The idea for Aska Outdoors came when we realized that even as medical professionals, we often forgot to bring basic first aid supplies on family hikes, fishing trips, or camping. Even when we did remember, the kits available were mediocre at best and occupied a large portion of the usable area in a bag. 

Thus, the idea was born to design a backpack that we loved, that we could use every day, and that would incorporate a dedicated first aid compartment- ensuring that we always have a high quality kit with us when needed, but doesn’t hinder the everyday use of the backpack otherwise. 

We're dedicated to creating high quality backpacks and aid kits that can be used, reused, and restocked for years of adventures- whether it's hunting, fishing, or hiking with kids.

We’ve been working on this project for about five years now and are pretty happy with the result. We hope you are too.
